March's most stylish vids
By Matt Glazebrook, 29 March 2016
Obviously the most stylish video on the internet in March was our spring/summer 2016 lookbook – but we've compiled the second, third, fourth and fifth most wardrobe-envy-inducing clips below.
Young Thug, For My People feat. Duke
In which hip-hop's eccentric fashion uncle leads the world's most lit army into battle. The new Young Thug clip embraces two big current trends – R&B/hip hop's interest in revolutionary imagery (see also Beyonce's Formation) and fashion's obsession with military chic – to thrilling effect. Thugger gets his troops hyped while rocking a camo bomber, camo balaclava and khaki tee, before taking back the streets wearing what can only be described as a teddy-fur skirt.
Tyler, The Creator, What The Fuck Right Now
We're fully behind the current Tyler, The Creator/A$AP Rocky bromance, particularly if it results in more 'hanging out in the studio, having a good time, wearing ace graphic-print shirts' clips like this one for the Odd Future dude's hot-fire take on Kanye's Freestyle 4. Lord Flacko looks like he's having the time of his life, while Tyler finds time to call out the current crop of skate-style hypebeasts: 'Oh you wearin' Vans and Supreme this season? Stop lyin' to yourself... me the reason'.
Sunflower Bean, Easier Said
Sure, we're all about Yeezy shades, tonal dressing and the new neutral colour palette right now, but that doesn't mean we aren't still suckers for a nice bit of gothy all-black rock 'n' roll every now and again. Brooklyn girl-boy-boy threesome Sunflower Bean bring strong Wicker Man vibes to the video for whimsical indie banger Easier Said – think black polo necks, skinny jeans and Chelsea boots, and accessorise with a burning torch or two.
Rae Sremmurd, By Chance
From folk-goth eeriness to a downright bizarro take on the beach-party genre, Rae Sremmurd's promo for the surreal, unnerving, oddly polite new single By Chance has waaaaay too much going on for a single paragraph, so we'll just list some of our favourite bits: the throwback New York Mets shirt, the tiny French bulldog puppy and Swae Lee's matching camo umbrella and jacket set.
