Six best sneaker Instagrams
By Chris Sayer, 16 March 2016
Chances are, the last pair of trainers you pulled from the box made it onto the ’Gram before they made it onto your feet. You probably earned some major likes for them as well, right? Well, we’ll bet it was nowhere near as many as these guys get. Behold, six of the coolest trainer collectors on Instagram, all filling their feeds with the most hyped, rarest and all-round sickest kicks money can buy (and quite a few that money can’t).

When you’re a festival-headlining, stage-smashing, Ibiza-ruling party starter, you need trainers that totally look the part. Luckily for Example (and his near-500k Insta followers), a boxfresh pair is never far away.
‘Right now, I’m eagerly awaiting everything adidas drops: NMDs, Ultra Boosts, all the various Tubulars but in particular the Xs,’ he tells us. ‘adidas seem to be running the show right now. Other than that, I’m rocking Nike Prestos from time to time, and I think the Asics Gel Kayanos are beautiful, especially the new Ocean pack.’

You don’t need to invest in a wallet-smashing camera to take sneaker pics worthy of a gallery wall. Alan Galloway’s account @mobilesneakers (just one of his many trainer-obsessed feeds) only uses stunning pics taken on a phone. Best bit is, if you think you’ve got a shot that could make the cut, tag it with #MobileSneakers to submit. You’ve got some pretty epic acts to follow, mind.

‘I’m so hyped on the new adidas NMD,’ Maj Veloso, Filipino sneakerhead and streetwear major player tells us when we ask him what he’s got his eye on right now. ‘The quality is definitely on top and that Boost technology makes the comfort dead-on.’ Pay his feed a visit if super-clean, super-smart photography is your thing.

Like the Banksy of the trainer world, hardly anything is known about Sneakerb0b, not least his identity. Instead, he lets his shoes do the talking, with a little help from the feet of his crew, who often crop up in his feed. If you’re desperate to know who ‘Bob’ really is, best head over to Germany and keep your eyes on the ground to try and seek him out.

What Rob Stewart doesn’t know about New Balance trainers ain’t worth knowing. Why? Because not only is he the boss man of the awesome @newbalance_gallery Insta account, but he’s without doubt one of the biggest NB trainer collectors in the world, with more vintage models than the brand themselves. Blimey.
So who better to ask about the next must-have pair of NBs? ‘It’s gotta be the M576NRG in the UK-made reptile pack,’ he tells us. ‘I peeped this material at the factory when I visited and wondered what it would be wrapped around. Well, I wasn’t disappointed. What an awesome stealth shoe!’

London’s Kish Kash is the realest sneaker connoisseur we’ve encountered, having worked up a fist-bitingly beautiful collection waaay into the thousands and developing the best sneaker brain with it. He takes his feed to another level by not just filling it with hype shoes, but spectacularly hard-to-find ones, too. Give him a follow, and you’ll learn a thing or two about trainer culture, that’s for sure.
