February's most stylish vids
By Matt Glazebrook, 29 February 2016
Yo, J Hus, Towkio and Young Thug, we're really happy for you, we're gonna let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the most stylish videos of all time! True – but Bey's otherwise peerless Formation clip neglected to feature much in the way of coppable menswear. Luckily, these guys more than had us covered this month.
J Hus – Friendly
Things we learn about J Hus from new video Friendly: he's got specific requirements when it comes to soft drinks (no ice); he's got a load of really good Nike gear. Hus gets through about six different Nike ‘fits in the course of Friendly's three minutes, including a nice navy tracksuit, a grey hoodie and bobble hat combo, an on-trend camo number and – best of all – a classic grey tracksuit paired with a matching fisherman beanie.
Towkio feat. Chance the Rapper – Clean Up
Not a lot happens in the new clip from Chicago MC Towkio – the bulk of it consists of a single, fixed shot of some pavement and brick wall painted in an attractive shade of pastel pink. But what does happen, we like a lot, as Towkio, Chance the Rapper, and a bunch of other pals show off their best (speeded up) dance moves while wearing a series of strong outfits (including a classic Chance get-up of black snapback, navy Polo Ralph Lauren Harrington jacket, grey drop-crotch joggers and Yeezy Boosts).
Young Thug – Worth It
Young Thug spends a chunk of the video for lovelorn new single Worth It rolling around with fiancée Jerrika Karlae while wearing not much at all. But when he does deign to put on clothes, they're good ones. Leaving his more outré fashion pieces in the closet, Thug keeps things cool and casual in various combinations of ripped skinny jeans, clean neutrals, joggers and a big blue poncho. Well worth a watch.
