The London, Milan, Paris and New York AW16 shows left us with enough trends to warrant an entire wardrobe overhaul, but for now we’ll settle for some easy style updates. We’ve already shown you the way to wear a hoodie and overcoat, so next up is how to nail a textured knit.
AW16: textured knits

The knitted jumper is a pretty standard bit of kit but it’s also an ideal opportunity to work some interesting details into your winter arsenal. Milan had mid-70s nan knits and Paris preferred its woollies worn out, but over at LC:M texture topped the bill. Normal knitwear was given a nice revamp with designers introducing weightier weaves and teddy-bear textures.
For your very own AW16-inspired outfit, try this white jumper, which boasts an excellent oversized cable knit on the front and robust ribbing on the back. Layer a Glen plaid overcoat on top to pick up extra print points and add a pair of navy wide-leg trousers for a subtle nod to NYFW. Finally, go for clean cream Vans on your feet and pick out their brown detailing with some solid leather accessories. Pop on a blue adidas backpack and you’ve got yourself a fresh new ‘fit.
