OUTFIT OF THE DAY
500 Days of Outfits
By Matt Glazebrook, 27 June 2015
After the celebratory champagne lunch of Outfit of the Day #500, now it’s time for a woozy mid-afternoon walk down memory lane, as we get misty-eyed over the past half-millennium (well, it’s felt like that at times) of exceptional famous dude fits. There’s been some serious style highs, a few curve balls, and a whole of lot Yeezy and Becks. But which of our prize-winning daily getups have been the greatest? Here’s our verdict – let us know yours.

We said: 'Drake not making an effort with his outfit makes most people’s making-an-effort outfits look like their not-making-an-effort outfits, right?'
9. Zachary Quinto and Miles McMillan (#472)
We said: 'Though they’ve been spotted moseying around the streets of New York in an embarrassment of strong outfits recently, their latest ensembles prove that a little wardrobe synergy goes a long way – and has, in fact, earned them our first ever joint outfit of the day where the people involved share both a sense of style and a bedroom.'

We said: 'A form-fitting burgundy blazer with pocket square kicks things off nicely, while the tie-less gingham shirt is cool and comfortable, which are two things you'll want to tick off in the summer. A pair of fitted navy chinos keeps all the lines crisp, while the whole thing is finished off with aplomb by some sockless ankles and beautiful brown Derbies.'
We said: 'A$AP tore up the red carpet in a whiter-than-white shirt and some crisp tailoring, which is a strong move away from his beloved Comme des F*ckdown threads of yesteryear.'

We said: 'The actor teamed his on-point early summer layers (please pay special attention to the nicely cuffed jacket sleeves) with a pair of slim (not skinny) indigo jeans rolled to the ankle over some pleasingly battered Chelsea boots.'
We said: 'He wore a pair of formal cropped black joggers, some slip-on trainers, a black and grey crew-neck T-shirt and a very, very nice black leather biker jacket. This is a great outfit for a long night out because it’s cool and comfy. It's the perfect combination, which is probably the reason Tinie’s all smiles!'

We said: 'This outfit is all about leaving things out: no tie, no belt and no socks let Wiz's tatts and 'tude do the talking. All that's left is an icy white shirt, equally fresh minimalist sneakers (the only kind that are smartwear appropriate) and just a touch of high fash in the form of a slim-fit, cropped trouser suit in a subtle horizontal stripe.'
We said: 'This is scruffy style at its best, underpinned by a flair for trouser rolling and quality white crew necks that – no matter how badly ironed – look reassuringly expensive. To top off his look and class it up, he’s gone for a pair of round-rimmed sunglasses, which are this season’s frame shape du jour for guys too cool for Clubmasters.'

We said: 'From the perfect red buffalo-check shirt ... and grey-marl T-shirt, to some slim-fit, washed-out black denim, a pair of beat-up brown boots and a killer leather holdall to carry his gear in, it is (as always) a perfect and very doable outfit.'
We said: 'Ordinarily, we’d suggest breaking up this blanket of crispness with a few subtle pops of colour. But Yeezy wears his whites with such swag that there’s no need to interrupt this unashamedly ‘look at me’ outfit.'
