OUTFIT OF THE DAY
Outfit of the day #435
By Gavin Jewkes, 23 April 2015
Every so often, a footballer comes along so immaculately presented that it makes up for the sartorial misfires of the wider community of soccer pros. One such example is va va voom-radiating former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry. And, although he’s retired from footy, his wardrobe game is still tight AF – something he proved the other day at Didier Drogba’s charity ball at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
A three-piece suit can be a tricky thing to wear without ending up looking like a walking curtain. There’s a lot of fabric going on, so it’s important that the individual elements that make up the suit fit like a dream. As one might expect from one of sport’s best-dressed men, Henry’s outfit has been expertly tailored, which helps avoid the issue of pooling trousers and an ill-fitting waistcoat.
While ASOS suits are renowned for their flattering cuts and quality fits, if you’re after a truly bespoke finish, take yours to a tailor who can make whatever little alterations necessary to transform your suit into one that looks like it was made to measure.
