James Bay probably thought that winning a BRIT award and chatting to Ant and Dec was the highlight of his fledgling career, but he was wrong. Dead wrong. Because today we’re inducting him into the ASOS Menswear outfit of the day hall of fame, or ASOSMWOOTDHOF, if you’re pressed for time.

Bay won the Critics' Choice award, which puts him in good company with Sam Smith, Adele and Florence & The Machine, and they’re all doing OK, aren’t they? So we’re expecting to see and hear a lot more from him over the coming year.
Spotted heading into Radio 1 this week, the young troubadour wore his trademark hat along with a cable-knit fisherman's jumper in grey, leather biker jacket, skinny jeans and brown desert boots. It’s a pretty righteous and timeless outfit, whether you’re an international pop star or someone just looking for a great outfit to see them through spring when there’s still a chill in the air. Plus, the versatility of a leather jacket means you’ll keep reaching for it as summer rolls in and you tie it round your waist ready for when the sun goes down on those lazy park days.
