What to wear on a night out

Big night out coming up? Well, good for you. Some us are quite happy looking sharp as a tack while sitting on the sofa watching Masterchef: The Professionals. But if you are heading somewhere swanky – potentially in the company of a couple of glamorous, style-obsessed women – and your best structured house joggers and 'directional' hoodie won't quite cut it, then that's where having a stylist comes in.

And if, for some reason, you don't employ your own personal fashion guru, we've got one you can borrow: ASOS Stylist James Welsh (hit him up here). We sent James for a posh night at The View From The Shard in London with fellow Stylists Rachel Bass and Rachel Mae (to celebrate the launch of its new student discount ticket) and demanded he dress in a manner befitting the highest of high life. Here's the smart yet cool and very achievable outfit he put together: a crisp white Oxford shirt paired with a skinny tie and even skinnier black jeans. Over the top, he threw on a leather bomber jacket and pulled on a pair of statement brogues to bring the whole thing together.
