Entering #tattoos into Instagram’s search bar brings up enough decorated bodies to make even the saltiest old sea dog raise an inky paw and doff his sailor’s hat in appreciation. In fact, uploading a pic of your latest skin art is fast becoming the new #selfie, #TBT or envy-inducing #holiday snap.
