Best-Dressed Fans: Part 1
By Matt Glazebrook, 17 June 2014
Things have looked pretty stylish on the pitch in Brazil so far, but what about in the stands? If anything, the style game's been even more spectacular, as fans of the 32 nations taking part – plus a fair few others who’ve just turned up for an almighty, pan-global party – do their best to make themselves seen and heard above the throng. Here’s five of our favourite looks from the footy following masses so far.

This Colombian couple have kept things simple, attractive and complementary. His neat face paint and tatts, her mirrored shades and killer retro vest. Muy bueno!

Mr Cameroon’s made a real effort with his all-over body paint, and there’s something even more majestic about the way the rain is half washing it away, lending the whole scene a bleakly magnificent Apocalypse Now vibe. The horror, the horror (of a 1-0 defeat to Mexico).

This guy, watching via video feed at a packed Tokyo Dome, would be a style winner anyway for his 'fro and Air Jordan headband. But his mournful expression beneath Japanese flag face paint elevates his look to pure football poetry.

Top-notch coordination for this handsome Costa Rican twosome. Matching skinny fit, striped retro tees, scarves and shoulder bags – plus expressions that say ‘Seriously, are we actually about to stuff Uruguay 3-1?

Colombia again, and we couldn’t not include this chap. The double tiger face is spectacular but its the Colombian flag woolly gloves that seal it for us. Patriotic and toasty warm!
