Is it possible for a musician to remain cool if your old man has his CD in the Volvo's glovebox? Arguably not. But in the case of Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini, dad-friendly tunes don't change the fact that he's riding high with the fastest-selling album of 2014 so far, and – most importantly – has properly nailed-down style.
Here he is performing at Radio 1's Big Weekend last Sunday, channelling a sort of off-duty Alex Turner vibe in a leather jacket and faded skinny jeans. The fact that this jacket is a classic cut, has some nice zip detailing and allows for plenty of flexibility confirms that Nutini knows exactly what to look for in a quality biker.
A jacket like this is a statement in itself, so it's important to keep things simple elsewhere. Like Nutini, wear yours with a plain cotton tee underneath and a vague air of aloofness.
