Five Facts: Troy

Lock up your rabbits, there's a new magician in town. But don't expect sparkly waistcoats or top hats in Troy van Majik's wardrobe, this magician has something of a cooler look. Snap-back caps, boxfresh trainers and killer tees define Troy's steez; that and the ability to floor a crowd with truly mind blowing close-up magic. Starting tonight at 10pm, on E4, Troy's self-titled new show will follow the South London warlock as he baffles members of the public and performs hectic studio stunts. And just in time for V-Day, tonight he's messing with speed dating. Here are five magic numbers to get you up to speed:
1. Troy's full name is Johannes Troy von Scheibner.
2. He is of Jamaican and German heritage.
3. He joined the Magic Circle and won the 'Young Close-Up Magician of the Year' award aged just 15.
4. Troy caught the magic bug at 12 after seeing David Blaine: 'My Dad bought me [Blaine's] video and I used to watch it all the time. I can tell you, no homework was done.
5. He used to work at the G-Star RAW store on Carnaby Street in London!
