3 WAYS TO WEAR TIE-DYE
By Eleanor Dunne, 11 March 2019
Whether it makes you think of 70s hippies, your primary-school arts and crafts class or Carrie Bradshaw in SATC, tie-dye is officially back. On the SS19 runways, psychedelic prints got a high-fashion makeover via labels like Prada, Dior and Stella McCartney, and at the recent fashion weeks, all your fave influencers were repping hard for the trend. For inspo on how to wear it IRL, below we give you three ways to try it now.
Now that's what I call 90s
If this look doesn’t remind you of your childhood, did you even grow up in the 90s? For real though, the tie-dye t-shirt, lace-up boots and dark lip vibe is a serious throwback moment. Those crisp white jeans are the perfect palette cleanser for the trippy print, and the shell accessories bring a surfer-chick spin. To finish, the wicker bag adds an unexpected twist. To dye for.
Who knew a double tie-dye moment could look so sophisticated? This long-sleeve top and midi skirt getup is a grown-up spin on the trend and we are so here for it. And, with the addition of some snake-print boots, it could actually be a great option for work (depending on your officewear etiquette). Tie-dye, we hardly knew ya.
Get into the groovy
If you want something different from your standard dress or jumpsuit, this tie-dye t-shirt and legging-shorts look is the fresh and funky combo you need in your life. A blazer and some barely-there makeup give it a glam upgrade. And when festival season comes, swap the blazer for a denim jacket and the heels for some trainers (or wellies, depending...)
