STYLING
POOLSIDE IS YOUR GOOD SIDE
By Caroline Ferry, 12 October 2018
Beach and pool days aren’t always about chilling in your bathers with an esky full of snacks and not a lot else. Nope, sometimes those spring weekends also involve a kinda fancy beachfront lunch with mates, or a full-scale pool party, inflatable swans and all. And when those sort of plans arise, here are our favourite his and hers outfits to do it in.

So, you’re going to want to focus on the cover-up being absolutely excellent. A long-sleeve co-ord means your journey there won’t raise eyebrows, but being a twosie, you can peel off the various elements as the day goes on. Sleek leather sandals and tortoiseshell hoops make the whole thing feel super-grown-up, but the chunky, mid-heel height means you won’t be tottering around tragically either. Add a playful crochet bag and so-90s simple swimwear and you’re hot to trot.

As tempting as it is to show up to almost all plans in just shorts, guys, sometimes that’s just not OK. But luckily these four fresh little numbers come in a close second. What keeps things looking smart is the black retro shirt, which also matches those trunks. The clashing patterns say, 'Hello, I know what I’m doing here,' but the chill sandals and singlet say, 'If anyone actually wants to go for a swim later, I'd be game for that, too'.
