INSPIRATION AND ADVICE
WHAT TO WEAR TO THE RACES
By Grace Cook, 9 October 2018
Smartening up for daytime can be a tricky affair to master, especially when it's not a wedding (more on that particular sartorial conundrum here). A day out at the races is bags of fun, but what do you wear? There are a number of considerations at hand, namely: it needs to be 'races appropriate' (midi lengths and/or covered shoulders for the win) but also agile enough to allow for a celebration dance when your horse comes first.

Our pick for best-dressed? High-octane colour all the way. This satin floral-print dress balances its midi length and long sleeves with a thigh-high split and embellishment. Cap it off with monochrome accessories – strappy black heels, a white bead-handle bag and an embellished velvet headband will do just fine. That's your gladrags sorted, all that's left now is to get your cheer on for the finish line. Well, that and deciding what to spend your winnings on.
