HOW ASOSERS DO NEON

‘Fluorescent is the new black’ might not roll off the tongue, but that doesn’t make it any less true. And with neon making bold strides on the AW18 runways (think Prada, Versace and Moschino), it isn’t blending into the sartorial background any time soon. From emergency orange to megawatt greens and pinks, here’s how our London-based ASOSers are wearing neon right now.

Serving up a cocktail of prints with a slice of lime-green neon, our Social Executive (and ASOS Insider) Lotte proves you can never throw too much colour into the mix. Try layering a patchwork cami dress over a fluoro roll-neck for a punchy colour-clashing combo. Finish with a cute headband, chunky hoops and a trusty pair of trainers and you’re good to glow.

Just because the sky’s a little grey out there, doesn’t mean our ASOS'ers have to colour-coordinate with it. ASOS Artworker, Tom is brightening up cloudy days with a neon-pink windbreaker. Wear with your go-to pair of blue jeans and white Converse hi-tops to balance it out – and if the weather turns, just pop that hood up.

There’s nothing like a jazzy back graphic to add even more interest to an already eye-catching piece – just ask our Junior Fashion Editor, Jo. Her acid-green jersey is bold enough that she can complete the look with just a good ol’ pair of true-blue jeans and crisp white kicks. Easy peasy.

Also known as the high-vis hue, emergency orange is the colour to be seen in this season – and with a pigment this punchy, you'll be hard to miss. Our Artworker (and another of our ASOS Insiders) Nawal’s oversized puffer jacket adds a zesty pop of colour to his monochrome ensemble. We’re loving the bum bag slung casually across it, too.

A fluffy neon-pink jumper? Yes please. Our Junior Fashion Editor, Beccy, proves eye-popping colour is the way to rev up her knitwear game. Paired with straight-leg jeans and black Converse sneakers, her faded-blue denim jacket is on hand to help navigate the tricky transitional times.

For an easy way to dip your toe into the neon trend, why not take a leaf out of Junior Fashion Editor Warren’s book and start small with stripes? Fluoro pinstripes are a great way to liven up a pair of standard black trousers, while a plain white tee (tucked in or out) tops things off nicely.
