INSPIRATION AND ADVICE

HOW TO DO KNITS AND SKIRTS

Dressing for a winter's day is a delicate balance of ensuring you're cosy in the morning but not overheating in the afternoon. Throw in some office air con, a sweaty train ride and wanting to look your best damn self and it's a tricky equation to get right. But, we think we've struck gold with the simple, but very effective, textured knit and floaty skirt combo. The look is a little bit granny-chic meets your best party dress and TBH it's our new go-to outfit option. Here are five street-stylers to prove we can't all be wrong...

Tea cosy

Not sure how to rock your white summer dress on an 11-degree day? Let us help with that. Take inspiration from this street-styler and pair a delicate, white layered skirt with a statement knit. Toughen up the look with chunky sneakers, finish off with Ray-Ban sunnies and a cute teeny-tiny backpack.

Clash it up

For the days you just want to be chill, but also have to make an effort, consider this multicoloured combo here. The pairing of the sporty retro hoodie and sneakers gives this look seriously laid-back vibes, but when worn with the delicate pleated skirt it ensures lying on the couch is not an option.

Snug life

What's better than being super-snuggly? Being super-snuggly with a mate, obvs. These two definitely got the knits and skirts memo and their choices need to be applauded. Try a knitted co-ord and boots for very cold days and opt for a silky maxi skirt with a chunky jumper when the sun is shining. Multiple miniature bags are encouraged.

Code red

If ice-cream tones and florals aren't your usual go-to for daytime dressing, then this more muted look is the one for you. Keep to the grunge aesthetic and opt for a sweater in a primary colour and pair it with simple black pieces, Dr Martens boots give it a seriously authentic 90s throwback vibe.

Striped style

Shout out to this girl who is living her best burgundy life. She has clearly fallen for the warm winter hue and is repping it from the waist down. In an effort to avoid a colour-drenching she has opted for a neutral camel sweater, but the wrap skirt and thigh-high boots ensure her look is anything but beige.
