NEW BEAUTY DROP: LIXIR
By Maybelle Morgan, 1 June 2018
Pigmentation. Dryness. Dullness... Yep, we all suffer from time to time, and most of us have been guilty of attempting to remedy said skin complaints with an overflowing bathroom vanity. But sometimes all it takes is just a few miracle products to overhaul your skincare regime. And this is where beauty brand Lixir comes in. The brand boasts no frills, multitasking, potent formulas in minimal Insta-worthy sand-pink packaging (and with very reasonable price tags). Now available on ASOS, here are our faves…
Orange is the new...
Vitamin C is the buzzword on everyone’s lips right now, with properties linked to brightening and scar-fading – so, naturally, we’re all over this Lixir Vitamin C Paste. Enriched with mandarin and jasmine, just apply a teensy amount to a cleansed face and wash off after a couple of minutes. Expect plumper, happier skin.

All-rounder
Back to that multitasking hype we were talking about, this ‘emulsion’ from Lixir is a legit hard worker. A super-nourishing moisturiser, night cream and serum conveniently rolled into one, it contains rose extract and ylang-ylang to boost the skin’s ability to retain moisturiser and leaves your face, neck, body, lips (yep, it goes everywhere) dewy and softer without the standard greasy residue.

Clean me
Now, this one’s a dream for all you science buffs. The negatively-charged formula attracts and pulls out positively-charged toxins, metals and free radicals for an intense facial detox. With a rich, creamy consistency – and boasting sage, rosemary, geranium and soothing chamomile – it also melts away makeup with a few massaging movements. Top tip: leave on for a few extra minutes for an enriching mask experience.
Fix you
Admittedly, we’re all a bit lazier than we’d like to be. And when it comes to beauty, wouldn’t the dream product just get to work while we’re catching our z's? And this 1% retinol formula does exactly that, boosting collagen production and gently refining the texture of your skin overnight. Age-defying stuff.
Three musketeers
Yeah, so anything acid-based will always sound pretty daunting, but this overnight hero works to gently encourage skin renewal. Formulated from a beastly blend of salicylic, lactic and azelaic acid, the exfoliating ingredients remove dry skin, reduce hyperpigmentation and help prevent clogged pores. It’s pretty potent, so only use a couple of times a week and always follow up with a good moisturiser.
