For 2018, the Adeam girl was the 70s personified, with models working coppery gazes, shadow extending from the inner corner of the eyes right up to the far corner of the brow. To accompany the eyes? Full brushed-up bushy brows and terracotta flushed cheeks. To avoid going OTT on the bronze, the lips were painted with a frosted peachy shade, and the long, healthy waves and cascading gold earrings only served to up the glamorous appeal.

For an oh-so-pretty spring take on the trend, ASOS Insider Lesley swaps up the rusty shade for something a little brighter and fresher. A shimmery copper shade gets swept over just the lids (for the wearability factor), and then on the lips? A metallic orange-peach gloss for pure feel-good festival potential. Lesley keeps the skin base dewy and bronzer-less for a modern update that keeps in mind your daytime RSVPs.

And for your own bronze party, take notes from ASOS Insider Lesley and update the look by keeping all the attention on the eyes and lips. And this shimmery copper shade from 3ina delivers big time when it comes to heavily pigmented coverage. So go easy and apply a light dusting over just the lids for the daytime, and then a double layer for your night out. On the lips, a slick of this Ciaté London chrome liquid lipstick does the trick. Brush up your brows for a subtle 70s nod, and then keep the base of the skin clean and sheer.
