5 REASONS THE GREY BLAZER IS IN RN
By Maybelle Morgan, 12 September 2017
It’s an awkward time of year right now. Winter’s ending but it’s still kinda breezy in parts of the country, so, what do you wear? Well, if the outfits on the #AsSeenOnMe feed are anything to go by, it’s the grey blazer. Bringing major tailoring points to your all-day everyday looks, here are five to get inspired by…

Ruche into it
In case you missed it, the 80s are having a big revival in 2017 and the return of ruching is a trend we’re very into. To subtly incorporate it into your weekend 'fits, it’s all about the oversized blazer with retro gathered sleeves. Keep all eyes on the detailing by pairing with classic blue skinnies, a white tee and a structured leather cross-body.

Check up on it
Search ‘perfect balance’ on Google and you’re likely to find this street-style win from ASOS Insider Alice. A double-breasted blazer smartens up just about any outfit, with the subtle checks providing extra texture. Pair with a slogan tee, black mom jeans and skate sneaks.

Dark and stormy
So you want to look smart, but don’t want to veer into workwear territory. Your number one option? Go mod, with a blazer in a longline cut and darker shade. Layer it over a knitted dress for that true 60s look and finish with pointed ankle boots, chic cat-eye shades and a chain cross-body.

Collaring book
In line with the 80s resurgence, go XXL on your collars for a true tailoring statement. For the perfect transitional look, layer a sharp blazer over casj staples: think a white cotton tee, black denim shorts and pointed leather mules. Gold accessories (i.e. a snazzy timepiece and layered necklaces) amp up the dressy feel.

Waist not
For a true Dynasty-style jolt, try belting up your grey blazer and pushing the sleeves right up above the elbows. Bold red jeans and pointed hardware flats enhance the vintage vibes, while a cutesy slogan tee gives it that 2017 refresh. So good.
