THREE UNEXPECTED WAYS TO STYLE YOUR BUMBAG

When you envisage a bumbag, we're willing to bet on one of three images creeping into your mind: you and your mates nailing that festival life, Zack and the rest of the Saved by the Bell gang, or your rents in Disneyland circa 1997. Either way, blogger and street style maven Lisa Hahnbueck has made it her mission (ish) to prove that bumbags are not here to be typecast. Here's three ways to wear them that we guarantee you haven't tried before (unless you are, in fact, Lisa Hahnbueck).

Fancy pack

The queen of Scandi sleekness isn't going to let the casualness of a bumbag stop her from doing her thing. Surprisingly, this combo works. It's worth mentioning that a khaki floor-length shift dress might not look as at home with your standard festival go-to bag, but the pared-back design of this red one tied in with the colour of her boots is totally chic and wearable. Bravo babe.

Sporty spice

For this look, Lisa takes inspo from the fanny pack's 80s sport vibes and does it her own way. It looks at home on the matching red stretch midi skirt (top marks for colour coordination) and the cropped polo nails it. She pairs it with adidas adilette sliders in green velvet to switch it up but stay cool and adds this season's best-loved accessory – yellow aviator sunnies. Holiday flow.

Prairie prin

Finally, LH goes for the ultimate style clash: the bumbag with a cute and girlie look. This brunch-perfect prairie dress and denim jacket would be heaven but quite vanilla without the splash of postbox red but add that in with the pointed 80s-inspired boots and the suede bag and it becomes interesting and still sweet as candy. Unexpected FTW.
