EVERYONE AT ASOS IS WEARING
HOW TO WEAR EYELETS (LIKE AN ASOSER)
By Maybelle Morgan, 7 August 2017
Heavy metal is back on the agenda. Whether it’s eyelets, rings or corset hooks, hardware is giving your summer wardrobe a head-to-toe grunge reboot. See how the ASOS team are getting on board…

Denim dream
Year in, year out: customised denim is a style staple. However, for 2017, swap pretty patches and badges for something a little harder. Your fave oversized jacket gets the metal treatment with sleeves detached (and then reattached) with silver eyelets and hooks. Like Siobhan, layer it over a plain black tee and wear with a ruffled skirt – in this season’s hottest print, AKA gingham – all-white tube socks and chunky sneaks.

Lace love
Pretty has been given a mean streak as the girliest lace number (pastels, ruffles, strappy asymmetric feels... yep, the whole works) meets some badass, contrast hook detailing. Keep the hardware theme running throughout and finish off the look with mega multi-buckled sandals.

Shake a leg
Your classic black skinnies get some tough love with row-upon-row of lace-up detailing. Yalda plays the layering game to give grunge a lighter vibe: an oh-so-pretty black sheer cami layered over a classic white tee. Clompy furry sliders finish off the monochrome look nicely.

Sunny side up
Ditsy doesn’t have to be yawn. Rebecca tears up the rulebook on traditional with this high-neck, yellow top with bold contrast panelling across the chest. Keep the sunny vibes going strong by pairing with a denim mini and lush burnt-orange sandals.

Flower girl
Take wallpaper florals in saccharine brights, add a distinctive hook neckline and what have you got? One seriously dreamy dress to wear all year long. Take notes from Rachel and complement the stare-stealing dress with eclectic plus-ones: a Blair Waldorf-style hair band, layers of silver necklaces and grungy black Converse.
