Gorpcore is the buzz-trend making winter great again

If we said turtlenecks, thermals, hiking boots, velcro straps (on everything), puffer jackets and fleece zip-ups you might think of your parents on overseas trips in the 90s. Well, they're back, baby! All of the above are having a legit fashion moment this season and it has a name.

Welcome to Gorpcore.

Rocking the gorpcore look is about wearing functional pieces for fashion purposes (hiking boots and ski pants are the new street style staples). And this could not have come at a better time. Staying comfy and snug in winter lends itself 100% to this trend. Peak practicality here we come...

If you haven't worn a puffer jacket since you were a kid then it's time to get interested. Alina Gelzina, blogger, rocks a low-key black version, but you can experiment with bright colours for major street style cred. And wearing with hella-sturdy boots = ultimate gorpcore goals. Score.

While Lisa Hahnbueck wears her semi-clear Hunter rain coat with a Bieber hoodie and backless mules, for ultimate gorpcore vibes switch them out for velcro sandals and a tech fleece. Congratulations: you're the comfiest cat in the room.
