FLASHBACK FRIDAY
7 times Emma Watson was red carpet magic
By Lucy Glen, 13 April 2017
We were introduced to Emma Watson at age 12 as frizzy-haired super-achiever Hermione in the first of seven Harry Potter flicks. Since then, we've watched and admired her seamless evolution to inspiring human and, of course, style superstar. Her everyday look is preppy-casj, but it's her red carpet choices that have us swooning. And so, in honour of her 27th birthday, here are some of the best. Accio, captivating outfits!

Bow-peep
Emma pulls off a subtle-but-super take on 80s power-dressing with a dress worthy of a Bling Ring theft. Extra style points added for the oversized bow, serious sequins and pointy heels.

Back at yer
Emma is a big fan of wearing pants on the red carpet (mega refreshing) and layers with the drapey, backless dress to tick those extra trend boxes, direct from the 2017 runways.

Once again she demonstrates who wears the pants, in this case some wide-leg winners - such a chill alternative to a gown. The over-sized blazer is a key wardrobe staple that, like Emma, is timeless. Bewitching.

Monochrome magic
White shirt and black pants can conjure images of corporate life, but with side-sleek hair, bad-ass black stilettos and gold cuff, Emma makes it going out-out goals.

Instant classic
Excitement levels were high enough with the new Beauty & the Beast hitting the screen, but when Em Wat stepped out in this beautiful caped gown we lost it. Perfect princess-moment: achieved.

Bright star
Back in 2012, Emma played up colourful summer vibes with clashing patterns in this geometric Peter Pilotto mini. Her sartorial taste may have moved to a more monochrome palette since then, but bright and printed more than suits her.

Suit up
Serving up some serious neckline drama, this jumpsuit is a red carpet winner. The gold belt, simple pumps and feline eyeliner give just the right amount of glam. Move over Voldemort: this is black magic done right.
