5 REASONS TO LOVE
WAYS TO WORK SUMMER WHITES

Play by play
Year in, year out: you just can’t go wrong with a classic cami playsuit – with delicate, barely there straps and lightweight material. Take notes from blogger extraordinaire Chiara Ferragni, who clashes up the pretty with blocky, hardware-heavy accessories. A quilted leather bumbag breaks up the white body, while cut-out boots with buckles add biker feels.
Give your summer whites a tennis nod with a crisp skirt co-ord and cutesy sneaks. For a Scandi twist, opt for slightly oversized silhouettes in cropped, warm-weather-friendly lengths. Monochrome trainers amp up the preppy and 90s mirrored sunnies impart that Cali vibe.
Channel a golf caddy from the swinging 60s with this winner of a look from Hamburg-based blogger Lena Lademann. If you’re going whites on whites, the key is to add subtle prints to provide texture. In this case, Lena pairs a Napisan-white basic with a starchy pinstripe jumpsuit and breaks it up at the waist with a green bumbag. Retro square sunglasses polish the look off.
Look up summer cool in the dictionary and, chances are, you’d come face-to-face with this breezy shot of blogger Elizabeth von Guttman. The formula is simplicity and at the centre of it is the classic midi shift dress (so right for any oven-like commutes). Finish with a black clutch, square shades and some Scandi-style leather sandals.
Little dress on the prairie
OK, going neck-to-ankle in all white can easily veer into bridal territory, so if full length is your bag, it’s all about matching the right silhouettes with the right accessories. Follow the leader, Greek blogger Evangelie Smyrniotaki, with this high-neck, tiered dress that was basically taken from the set of Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled. Make it equal parts dreamy and cool by matching with witchy outfit plus-ones: 90s rectangle sunnies, a leather crossbody and mean-looking sock-boots.
