STYLE LESSONS FROM BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
By Lakeisha Goedluck, 24 October 2018
Raise your hand if you've ever sung We Are The Champions at the top of your lungs? Well, you've got rock band Queen to thank for such a legendary tune – and the quartet are being honoured in biographical film Bohemian Rhapsody, which is released in the UK today. Starring Rami Malek as inimitable frontman Freddie Mercury, we’ve put together an outfit in honour of the group’s iconic 70s style. Check it out…

If your current aesthetic is on the pared-down side and has got you feeling all ‘I want to break free’, then you’ve come to the right place. Queen’s sartorial choices were as strong as their songwriting abilities, so there’s no shying away when it comes to borrowing their style.

Mercury was oft spotted in his signature white vest, so follow his lead by starting with a plain white tee. Next, layer up with a blazer – pick one in a standout colour or bold print to keep things as ostentatious as possible. On your bottom half, smart satin trousers are the way to go (you’ll notice Malek rocking a fair few pairs in the flick.) As for your shoes, the group were big fans of pointed footwear, so glittery loafers will have you feeling like Mr Fahrenheit all night long.
