Now, you can’t say you’ve really visited Copenhagen without seeing the city’s famous harbour. Get off at Nørreport station and take a 10-minute walk through the central shopping area to reach Nyhavn – there are plenty of restaurants around to stop for a drink or a bite to eat and take in your surroundings.
Otherwise, a few stops on the metro from Nørreport will get you to Christianshavn where the famous hippie commune Freetown Christiania exists. Wander around and enjoy the local artwork on display, or chill by the water with a book if it’s warm out.
If you’re down to do something a little more energetic, then make sure you squeeze in a visit to Tivoli Gardens. An amusement park and music venue (Solange is due to play there this month), enjoy an aerial view of CPH if you’re brave enough to go on its famous giant drop ride, The Golden Tower.
