Bringing back trainers of yesteryear in their original form is always a popular move, and with good reason – everyone loves a classic, right? But sometimes a silhouette needs a switch-up to keep things from going stale. In step Saucony: it's putting a smart spin on an 80s retro runner for a modern-day update.

Years after it was retired from Saucony’s running line-up, the Shadow 5000 became a cult hit with sneakerheads looking for something a little more left field – breaking out an otherwise-unseen pair that looks as good as these is the kick-game equivalent of a wildcard championship win. Collabs quickly followed, and with special projects with heavy-hitters like Solebox and Pusha T’s Play Cloths under its belt, the Shadow 5’s new career in the lifestyle category has started with a bang.
