As you've probably clocked by now, things are changing in the trouser department this autumn (we blame One Direction, who, funnily enough have managed to put us off something for once – time to update those skinny jeans, boys). Yes, 90s-style wide legs are happening (have you seen the Loewe show that just happened?). There are also flares, possibly – probably – a direct result of J-Law and Amy Adams totally bringing it in 70s throwback film American Hustle. And then there's a rogue contender, which we're calling the slinky trouser because, well, they're just that: long, shiny and swooshy all at once. Rihanna and Kendall are already in on the slinky trouser game, but how do you style them?
For day, wear them with a fresh plimsoll and high-neck jumper (très 90s-throwback-meets-Céline). For evening, think platform heels (it's even a good time to try those knee-highs as they would certainly fit underneath) with a little cami top and a jacket slung over the top. Final touch: earrings. Small hoops for day and go all-out for evening with your fave statement pair – and Harry Styles on your arm (we've already forgiven the dodgy skinnies).
