You’ve been styling her since you were five years old but now it’s Barbie’s turn. News broke this morning that our ultimate Malibu girl is collaborating with LA brand Wildfox on a collection that is due to drop in September. OK, Barbs hasn’t done the pattern cutting, but Jessica Dunne, Mattel’s general manager (Mattel owns Barbie) is on a one-woman mission to re-instate Barbie as the true fashion icon she is. Taking inspo from Barbie’s 80s wardrobe – frankly, a fabulous starting point for any collection (Feelin’ Groovy Barbie anyone?) – Wildfox’s range will actually include items aiming to recreate specific doll's get-ups. Think ‘I love Ken’ (need) slogan jumpers, Barbie logo one-piece swimsuits, and baby-pink circular sunnies. We die.
