Hyères festival (said kind of like Yeahrrr) in the south of France might not be on your fashion radar, but the three-day event last week, with a photography, style and all-round arty vibe was the perfect place to go cool spotting. The annual event draws a mix of big names from the French fashion industry and international cool peeps including actress Chloë Sevigny and director Spike Jonze (who were on this year's judging panel).

We went along to take a look at some of the up-and-coming fashion designers and, natch, to style spot. The crowd mix mega labels like Céline and Kenzo (designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon were also present and correct) with non-logo printed playsuits and cool footwear: think Normcore goes on holiday. Post-sundown, the parties start and the wow-factor gets turned up a notch or two. But the aim of the game, like only the French can, is to look like you've not tried too hard – something we'd be up for going back and perfecting next year…
