Whether you were super generous this Christmas or you splashed out in the January sales (guilty!), payday seems like a looong way off right now. The solution? Flog some stuff. Everybody knows eBay is brill, but here are four other places that are great for getting shot of unwanted gear to earn a squid or two (and make way in your wardrobe for SS14 threads next month). Pretty thrifty, huh?

VESTIAIRE
Best for: selling a spur-of-the-moment buy. If you've got a high(ish)-end whatever collecting dust in your wardrobe, Vestiaire is the place to go, as is the equally ace Covetique

ASOS MARKETPLACE
Go to for: re-selling vintage. Maybe it's time to trade in the band T-shirt you're wearing in 40% of last year's Facebook snaps. New year, new start?

INSTAGRAM
Biggest plus: simple and stress-free. Sell to your mates by snapping a pic and naming a price. Another tip – forget #nofilter – Low-Fi can make the oldest kicks look amazing, and add in #forsale so everyone can see your listing.

ETSY
Great for: stuff you've customised (like a denim or leather jacket you've pimped up but grown out of). And it's not just clothes you can sell here, gadgets, housewares… whatevs.
