We have to hand it to you London Fashion Week, you’re pretty spesh. Check out the wonderful/weird things that you’d only ever find at LFW.
Only at LFW would a plastic Tesco bag become the most coveted accessory on the catwalk. Granted, the designer Ashish had given it a sequin makeover and switched ‘Tesco’ for ‘disco’. Giles Deacon took inspiration from his gap-toothed Brit muses – Katie Grand, who styled the show, and Georgia May Jagger – creating dresses with glitzy pouts, while Mary Katrantzou honed in on the print of a classic English gentleman’s brogue for her dresses.
FUN! LFW attendees have it large: colour and LOL accessories are our trademarks – check out Tess Yopp and Susie Bubble for proof. There’s a reason why international girls reference London style as the most inspirational in the world – and LFW is the prime place to see it on show.
Georgia May Jagger and Amber Anderson were doing what Brit girls do best – mixing it up. A cosy knit with a tutu, you say? Chucking a bomber jacket over a sleek outfit? Yup, that’s how we roll.
Only at LFW would the high priestess of fashion be so royally shunned. Put it down to our notoriously GSOH that Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe, American writer Derek Blasberg and Laura Bailey were too busy sharing a joke at the Erdem show to notice poor Anna Wintour on her tod.
Cara has been touting this BS (that's Black Score – no, not what you were thinking) balaclava around LFW, making her model mates and even Harry Styles wear it. Shamelessly bigging up her friend Simeon Farrar’s London-based label, Cara kept it all in the Brit family.
Another Magazine threw a fancy dress party where the likes of Kate Moss, Jamie Hince, Suki Waterhouse and Georgia May Jagger made dubious attempts to dress up as characters from Alice in Wonderland. Following a dress code isn't our strong point, but looking original is.
