It’s all too easy to get lost in the excitement of Christmas and forget about the hardest-to-plan-but-most-crucial party of the year, New Year's Eve. Don’t be left out in the cold (or left in with your mum and The Best of Take That) and take heed of our NYE advice, courtesy of the DJ duo that took 2013 by storm, Disclosure.

What’s your plan for New Year's Eve?
Guy: We’re playing three clubs on New Year's Eve: Sheffield (O2 Academy), Leeds (Canal Mills) and Birmingham (Gatecrasher).

If you weren’t playing, what would you be doing?
Howard: I’d probably go to the Dollop night in Nottingham or London, which Jackmaster and Joy Orbison are playing – Jackmaster’s probably my favourite DJ.

Guy: The Prodigy are playing the London O2, I reckon that would be pretty amazing. I normally just go to a mate’s house though – I love New Year's Eve house parties.

What would be your ultimate dream NYE?
Howard: My dream would be to go to Berghain in Berlin – that would be crazy, it's one of the best clubs in the world.

Guy: Or The Warehouse Project in Manchester – New Year's Eve there would be awesome.

What makes the perfect NYE playlist?
Howard: I think you’ve gotta play a lot of disco. We’ll be dropping a lot of Chic, maybe some Luther Vandross.

Where’s a good place to find music for a New Year's Eve house party?
Howard: I love Annie Mac’s Sunday night show on Radio 1.

Guy: Artwork and Sgt Pokes have their own show on Rinse FM – that’d be a good playlist for a party.

Brothers Howard (below left) and Guy Lawrence will be rocking the party as Disclosure.
