WHAT TO WEAR TO

Outfits to rule Valentine's Day, whatever your plans

By Anna Heaton, 9 February 2016

February 14th is only a heartbeat away and you're going to need something to wear to your date night, galentine's fun or movie night-in plans. Forget the clichés and make your heart swoon with V-Day outfits that are so SS16.

Date night

If you and your other half are braving the elbow-to-elbow dining experience this weekend, then this cute get-up has got you covered. Keep Gucci-esque pretty pleats (in pink for extra romance) looking cool with denim and jersey layers on top and a pair of studded heels. A beaded bag and some sequinned earrings are all you need to dress it up.

Mate date

Keeping it strictly gal pals instead? Make like matchy mates in twinning blush tones, camo essentials and denim. Layer up your new-season slip dress – in pink to suit your BFF's bomber, obvs – with double jackets (it's still February, after all) and clogs to up the ante. Match your khaki under-layer to your mate's embellished clutch and show the world what it means to be soulmates.

Movie night-in

If you're saying 'no thanks' to leaving the house this V-Day, staying in with a wish list of movies is the dream. Get people over and go one-up on PJ dressing in a slinky playsuit and tie-dye sweat to keep it chilled (but still major). Throw on a pair of Converse if you draw the short straw and have to go on the snack run. Staying in is the new going out, right?
