Whether it's a lurex knit like Tida (left, middle), angora or textured knits like Alex and Karen (right), this season's penchant for the power jumper has got you covered. This basic cover up is the perfect accompaniment to brighten up winter whether you go for waffle knit sweaters or boyfriend shape cardigans to dress down a skirt for a funky daytime look - motifs, bright colours and textures make this the cover up to be seen in this winter.

As seen on the Miu Miu and Jonathan Saunders catwalks, pencil skirts and their good friend the pussy bow blouse are anything but conservative. Cutting a shapely silhouette that harks back to silver screen sirens like Lauren Bacall or the ladies of Mad Men, this trend oozes effortless sophistication. Team a pussy bow blouse with bright Capri trousers like Alice (right) for a more casual air and pair pencil skirts with a 2011 update in crop tops for a contemporary twist on a classic like Annalisa and Amber-Rose (both right).

This is all about the best of British. Think eighties icons for this look from the demure approach of Lady Di to the unlikely style inspiration of Maggie Thatcher. High necks and long skirts are de rigeur as seen on student Luisa in navy (left). Go for a sheer material and grunge style shoe like a lace-up boot or brothel creeper to add a tougher edge and opt for sheer fabrics to add a youthful and feminine touch.

Channel Brit '60s style icon Twiggy for A/W '11s mod squad style tribe. Catwalks at Celine and Prada set the bar for swinging shift dresses like Naomi (right). Make a statement by utilising simple structures and colour blocking and team with plastic hoop earrings for an easy addition that will finish off your swinging look. The Aztec shapes of summer are toned downed in colour but continue to make a bold statement in monochrome, combining with the Mod angle just like Annie (right).

* Closing date of the competion is midnight 30.10.2011. The winner of the daily competition will be judged Monday-Friday only.
