Five minutes with: Zedd
Things are going very, very well for 24-year-old German DJ and electro producer, Zedd. He's just won a Grammy for Clarity, featuring Foxes. He regularly works with Lady Gaga, and tours with Skrillex and deadmau5. And now it looks like he might have his first UK number one single with Stay the Night (download now via iTunes), featuring Hayley Williams. The song has 35 million YouTube views, 250,000 downloads in the US, and is catchy as. We grabbed five with Zedd to talk icons and tour essentials.
What are the five essential items you take on tour?
My iPhone, iPad, sunglasses, earplugs and tissues.
On stage, do you dress for comfort or style?
I do a good a mix of both. I almost always wear plaid, which is probably rather for style, but at the same time it's super comfortable. I'd probably never wear something that looks awesome but feels uncomfortable.
Your music icon?
Your style icon?
I don't really have a style icon but from a brand / design standpoint: Apple.
First person you'll call if you get a number one record?
My managers Dave and Tim!
Record that's guaranteed to get you on the dance floor?
Currently my jam is Gecko by Oliver Heldens.
