Imagine if you were in a band and had your own comedy series. Mmm, that feels good, doesn't it? Well, Ash Horne doesn't even have to imagine that, because that's his actual life... for he is a member of the mighty Midnight Beast. Currently showing on E4 (watch episode four, tonight at 10pm, and catch up with the whole lot on 4oD), the second series is madder than a bag of snakes and funnier than your funniest friend. We grabbed Ash, calmed him down with a nice cup of tea, and asked him some important questions

What are the five essential items you take on tour?
My essentials are different to [fellow Beasts] Stefan and Dru. They take away their laptops, and all that kind of stuff. And they always take the mick because I bring a stupid amount of hair product and clothes.

Your music icon?
Blink 182. I've been listening to them for so long. And it relates to what we do: just having a good time with the music.

Your comedy icon?
Has to be Ricky Gervais. There's been so many days when me and my friends have got together and just blasted through The Office. Our vocabulary is made up of David Brent quotes - we don't really have a personality, that's all we use.

Where do you get your musical inspiration from?
We do writing sessions where we spend ages in the studio creating weird ideas and just running with them. What people wouldn't sing about, we sing about that.

First person you'll call if you get a number one record or BAFTA?
Probably my mum. She doesn't get out much so I'd probably have to let her know I'd won a BAFTA. She's always been my number one supporter.

Record that's guaranteed to get you on the dance floor?
A lot of Skrillex's stuff is awesome. And I like old school stuff: Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy.

Is it true you were asked to join The Beast while playing Call of Duty? Or is that nonsense?
That's just internet nonsense. Wikipedia just lies to you. It just feeds you lies!
