One of Hollywood's biggest names will stomp back onto our screens next year. And if the brand new Godzilla trailer is anything to go by, it's going to be big, loud, and messy.

Directed by Gareth Edwards - who has form with giant beasts, after directing the very underrated, Monsters - this is the biggest of blockbusters, with cast including Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olson and Juliet Binoche.

The official spiel says that Godzilla is, "an epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence"

So it's monsters fighting monsters, while us lowly humans scuttle about looking understandably panicked. You don't see much of the star in the trailer, so they're clearly saving the big reveal for later. But it definitely looks epic.

When reached for comment, Godzilla said: "ROOAOAOAOORRRRRR" and then ate a lorry full of turkeys.

Godzilla is released on May 16, 2014
