We saw glimpses of this switch-up at the Chanel show last month, but Skepta’s fresh style shone brightest at the launch of the Dazed and Confused magazine’s annual Dazed 100 list last week.
The grime overlord’s launch-party attire started with a smart-casual base of black tee tucked into smart, grey, checked trousers. Then, he threw on a pair of chunky black trainers, with thick lacing and silver eyelets, while a makeshift belt gave his smart look a more experimental edge. More eccentric though, was his dark green, crushed velour biker jacket, which was thrown on with the same nonchalance as you would a simple shacket. The finishing touches came courtesy of a black beanie and statement sunnies – a pairing that might not be for all of us, but one which Skepta still managed to pull off.
