Super-blogger Connie Cao (you know, from K is for Kani) has already styled out the new season’s chief trends for us. Think 60s style silhouettes, bursts of colour and novelty accessories. Love. It.

If you’re not down to wear all that at once (fine if you are!) the Aussie style supremo gave us three quick cheats to making your spring basics anything but…

1. It’s important to have your own basics. It doesn’t have to be a plain white tee (I don’t think I’ve ever worn one!) – as long as it can be worked into your style effortlessly in different of ways, it counts as a basic.

2. For spring, my staples are plain pastel tops, a bright midi skirt and sleek blush sliders.

3. T-shirts are an easy way to look effortless and casual. I love loosely rolled sleeves and a simple print – gives it a bit of character!
