The sun shone brighter than Ron Burgundy’s ‘salon-quality hair’ yesterday as legions of fans welcomed the cast of Anchorman 2 in Sydney, almost a decade after audiences first familiarized themselves with the Channel Four News Team and their, er, unique catalogue of lexicons.

Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner walked the burgundy carpet at the Entertainment Quarter, as did fellow Aussie Josh Lawson, and similarly named actresses Kristen Wiig and Kirsten Dunst.

We had a quick catch up with the men who breathe life into cinema’s most emotionally-stunted news crew and director Adam McKay, who gave a little insight on what went into making the much-hyped sequel. (And yep, we’re still in a glass cage of emotion over the experience…)

Anchorman 2 airs in cinemas nationally from December 16.
