The details include: zip fly, classic five pocket styling, one rinse finish, standard hem, selvedge lap seam and signature red tab to the reverse. It all started with the world’s very first blue jean back in 1873, now Levi’s history of creating iconic jeans, is bought to life with the Levi’s Vintage Clothing range. All of the denim throughout the collection is made in the Conemills factory in Greensboro, North Carolina where Levi’s have sourced denim since the 1920s. Worn by the rebellious youth of the 1950’s the 1954 501Z was seen on the likes of 20th century style icons such as Marlon Brando. The “Z” in the 501Z signifies the introduction of a zip fly, instead of the traditional buttons Levi’s had used previously.
